“Friendship Circle is a vital community resource in Miami Dade County. It pairs students who have special needs with high school students throughout the area, and is a true lifesaver for parents of children who have special needs.
To operate, Friendship Circle needs friends itself, and it has a fine one in our local Florida State Representative, Vance Aloupis. Vance represents parts of Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and Kendall, and knows firsthand the wonderful work Friendship Circle does for our community.
On August 13, Vance paid a visit to the Summer Camp run by the Friendship Circle for a meet and greet with campers. During the visit, he delivered a check he secured from the State of Florida to help the Friendship Circle increase access to crucial programs for people with special needs.
Rabbi Yossi Harlig, along with camper Justin, thanked Representative Aloupis for his friendship, and for his zealous advocacy on behalf of our community’s most vulnerable children.
Vance expressed his support for Friendship Circle’s future home – a 20,000 square feet state-of-the art community center that will be a game-changer for the special needs community and serve as an inclusionary model to be replicated throughout the country.
The need for social engagement and life skills training for children who have special needs needs has never been greater, but together as a community we can bridge that gap!
Ceremonial Groundbreaking for Friendship Circle’s new facility is set for early 2020.
